How to Apply Optithrocin 5 Gm Eye Ointment

• Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after each application
• If the eye has any crust or discharge, gently clean it with a clean, damp cloth or cool water before applying the ointment
• Tilt your head back slightly and look upwards
• Gently pull down your lower eyelid using a clean finger to create a small conjunctival pocket or pouch
• Hold the ointment tube close to the eye without allowing the tip to touch the eye, eyelid, eyelashes, or any other surface
• Squeeze a thin ribbon of ointment — approximately 1 centimetre (cm) in length — into the pocket of the lower eyelid in a sweeping motion
• Release the eyelid and gently blink to spread the ointment evenly over the eye surface
• Keep your eyes closed for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the ointment to absorb properly
• Wipe away any excess ointment from the eyelid and lashes using a clean tissue
• Recap the tube tightly after each use to prevent contamination

Optithrocin 5 Gm Dosage Guidelines

• Apply the ointment into the affected eye(s) as directed — typically once or twice daily
• Use at evenly spaced time intervals to maintain consistent drug levels in the eye
• Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve within a few days — stopping early risks recurrence and promotes antibiotic resistance
• If you miss a dose, apply as soon as you remember — but if it is nearly time for the next application, skip the missed dose and continue normally. Never apply a double dose.
